I have a more than a decade of experience as a multimedia journalist. It's both a challenge and a dream come true; I can't think of a better way to spend a day than juggling multiple cameras and a notebook, interpreting new places and perspectives.
My writing has appeared all over the world in publications including The New York Times, The Christian Science Monitor, Forbes, USA Today, The Washington Post, El Universal and many others. My video stories have appeared on the National Geographic Channel and Yahoo News, in addition to a variety of international networks.
It's been a journey: I started out by writing music reviews in New York City for an obscure website in 2000, moving on to internships at the Christian Science Monitor and the New York Times and earning an MA in journalism from Stanford. I became a crime reporter a small newspaper in Salinas, CA, one of the few that still kept an on-site printing press, and worked in Mexico City for AP and freelance clients from 2006-8. I currently produce broadcast stories for AP Television from the Bay Area with a focus on Silicon Valley technology.
